Dedicated to the memory of Michael Holyland
This site is a tribute to Michael, a unique firebrand of a boy who was born in Leicester on 15th April, 2004.
He confronted every challenge his short, difficult life dealt him with a steadfast defiance and a resolute will which earned him much love and respect.
He was blunt and honest to a fault. He loved tractors, lorries, tanks, spaceships and videogames (mostly about tractors, lorries, tanks or spaceships), he loved his Mum's cooking, but mostly he loved his family, who will keep him in their hearts forever.

I knew Michael because we went to primary school together. We were really good friends and he was always there for me. During our year 6 leavers play (YEHA!) I met his mum for a short while. I didn't know his family very well but I knew him like the back of my hand. We were in the same class together but then I moved away and we sadly lost contact. Not a single day went past where I didn't think of him. He was a cheerful man despite everything he went through and always managed to make me smile on tough days where I thought I could never smile again. He was the best friend I ever had and he will be in my heart forever. Rest in peace Michael xxxx
